The Department of Family Medicine is one of eleven clinical departments at the Brody School of Medicine. The purpose of the department is to improve the health of the people of eastern North Carolina through leadership in Family Medicine education, research and health care services. The Firetower Medical Office is a clinical practice site that is in the Clinical Services Division of the Family Medicine Department. The mission of our division is to provide quality comprehensive care to families of all ages. Our team approach puts the patient at the center of their own medical care. We work with our staff as well as all members of the patient’s care team to ensure the best possible care for the patient. The Firetower Medical office is committed to the continuing education of the Medical Students at the Brody School of Medicine.Job Duties :
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to assist with the flow of clinic patients in the Firetower Medical Office. Job duties of this position include performing patient workups, assisting health care providers with clinical procedures, administering medications, and performing basic laboratory tests. Operation hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with hours 8:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
This position comes in contact with medical providers, patients, staff, medical sales representatives, and other personnel at the ECU School of Medicine.
CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.
This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant’s competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.Minimum Education/Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Requires certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or successful completion of the requirements from an accredited medical assisting program that permit eligibility to sit for a national certification exam. If not already certified, please note that you must receive your Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification within 6 months from your start date for continued employment.License or Certification required by statute or regulation:
