Physical Requirements:The essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift:Monday through Friday, 8am til 430pm with lates/ Manager call
Job Summary:The Nurse Coordinator will provide the necessary guidance, coaching, education and expertise to nursing staff in Preop/PACU areas within the Center for Advanced Surgery. Focus is on this specific area so that there will be better recognition and response to patient care issues, improved quality of care and opportunity for development of critical thinking skills and global perspective within PREOP/PACU areas and beyond.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Standard Duties that of a Registered Nurse and increased responsibility for coaching, mentoring and assisting other nurses, Patient Care Technicians and others within the PRE-OP-PACU areas within the CAS.
Basic computer skills, positive, and mature communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:Previous management or coordinator experience within a Post Anesthesia Care Unit is preferred. PACU and/or ICU experience preferred.
