Required Related Experience:Three years.
Required License/Registration/Certification:Private Pesticide Applicators Certification and Commercial Driver’s License are preferred
Physical Requirements:Requires lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50lbs and working in tobacco barns at heights greater than 20 feet.
Shift:Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm (37.5 hours a week), occasional overtime required, and sometimes may require working holidays and weekends.
Job Summary:The College of Agriculture, Food & Environment seeks a Research Farm Technician II. This position provides support for research activities and performs other duties and tasks related to the operation, maintenance and repair of the facility. Responsibilities include general farm and facilities maintenance such as: mowing, hand trimming, landscape maintenance, planting trees, tree/ tree limb removal/ cleanup, including felling trees, road repairs, fence construction/ repair including painting, building repairs/ maintenance/ painting, calibrate pesticide application equipment, mix and apply pesticides, other duties as assigned to maintain and improve aesthetics of the facilities, assist with construction project, any/ all other duties and task related to facilities and farm maintenance not specifically described above. The position is located at North Farm on Newtown Pike.
