Physical Requirements:This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to loud noises, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.
Shift:Weekdays between 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (40 hours per week); no holidays or weekends required.
Job Summary:A Patient Access Services Representative is primarily responsible for departmental processes including providing customer service, completing various department specific tasks, administrative duties, communications, and completing accurate documentation. The duties of representatives include following direct supervisor instruction, ensuring patients receive superior service through quality work, and ultimately contributing to the successful creation of accurate patient accounts. Representatives ensure department policy and procedure is fully understood and followed.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.

Preferred Education/Experience:Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient scheduling highly preferred.
