Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct experience in pre-award research administration preferred. Knowledge of UGA internal processes and UGA systems preferred.

Position Summary:

The Grants Coordinator III will provide full service assistance with pre-award grant submissions for Faculty Fellows and Affiliates of the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research. The individual in this position will work very independently coordinating grant submissions, drafting components and managing their own caseload and priorities. The GCIII will report to the Assistant Director who oversees all research administration activities at the Institute and is a DLSA. Other duties will include assistance with tracking grant activity and compiling report data, working with Principal Investigators and Business Managers to provide post-award assistance for grants administered through OIBR, finding funding opportunities, staying abreast of policy changes within UGA and at a federal level, and additional research-related support as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Proficient in both Microsoft Office and Adobe software. Knowledgeable of UGA systems such as the eResearch Portal. Some knowledge of accounting, business and finance, and budgeting required. Accurate spelling and grammar skills; attention to detail; excellent communication skills and customer service skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Pre-award grant support to include working with faculty to find funding opportunities that match their research interests, understand and adhere to guidelines within the institutional framework and that of the sponsor’s guidelines, draft budgets and budget narratives, draft other non-scientific components, coordinate subcontract packages, transmittal form data entry and submission, full coordination and submission of proposals. This position is expected to acquire decentralized limited signatory authority within 12-18 months of taking this position if the selected candidate does not already hold this authority.

Maintain departmental tracking database to include all pre- and post- award data for projects submitted through and administered by OIBR. Run reports and develop graphs or tables to exhibit data as needed.

Post-award grant support such as assisting with Just In Time requests, award budget revisions, project progress reports, no cost extensions, administrative action forms, submitting re-budget requests, etc.
