Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Studies Program at the University of South Dakota invites applicants for the position of assistant professor of criminal justice. Preferred areas of specialization include carceral, reentry or restorative justice studies. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to teach information literacy and research methods and may be asked to deliver some courses online.

We seek a candidate who possesses a commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring, and research within the context of a strong liberal arts program. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, share in the work of a vibrant department and apply his or her professional expertise in the service of the university, community and discipline. The Criminal Justice Studies program enjoys major endowments that support faculty research and international/domestic off-campus study opportunities for its majors.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, or a closely related field on the date of appointment. A J.D. or master’s degree alone is insufficient qualification for this position. The start date will be August 22, 2021.
