Patient Care Technician - CVU - req2510
PatientCare Technician facilitates and assists in meeting the needs ofthe patient. These tasks are to be within the range of responsibilities thatthe Registered Nurse (RN) can rightfully delegate to an unlicensed patient careprovider. The Patient Care Technician(PCT) follows the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Lead/Charge Nurse, theNursing Director/ Assistant Nursing Director, as well as the House Supervisor.
Qualifications:1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) Certification by Ohio Department of Health required at the time of application.
3. Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions accurately.
4. Ability to plan and organize work and to work under supervision. Willingness to accept responsibility for patients in their care when performing delegated functions of this position and to perform delegated duties in accordance with established methods and procedures.
5. CPR certification / Basic Life Support is required.
6. Will be required to work some weekends and holidays.
7. May be required to rotate shifts and units.
8. Physical requirements:
a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
b. ability to hear (with or without aides)
c. ability to orally communicate
d. good manual dexterity
e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally
f. ability to stand, walk frequently
g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and
h. ability to perform CPR
