Nature of Work:

The student in this position will assist the Department Chair and Director of Field Experiences, Certification, and Outreach with clerical tasks and special projects. This is a 15 hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Chair for the Department of Education and Teacher Preparation. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Student employees are not to work during scheduled class times, even if classes are cancelled or dismissed early.

Essential Duties:

• Professionally communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, students and visitors
• Provide visitors with information pertaining to the Department of Education and Teacher Preparation
• Assist in updating Department of Education and Teacher Preparation handbooks
• Prepare and file documents for long and short term storage
• Complete tasks including typing, copying, faxing, shredding, etc.
• Create various data bases, brochures, flyers, forms and surveys
• Prepare activity and data reports and similar documents
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets
• Run errands on campus
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
• Must possess strong professional communication and collaboration skills
• Must be dependable
• Must have knowledge of general office equipment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Work Hours :

Based on the student's class schedule and the needs of the department. Mostly daytime hours.
