Position Summary:

UCI Student Housing serves roughly 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students in six on-campus housing communities that include residence halls, theme houses, and apartments. Comprehensive Residence Life programs, Dining, and other support services are tailored to the needs of each community. Student Housing is part of the Auxiliary Services arm of UCI Student Affairs, and partners with campus colleagues to support the academic success and well-being of students.

Under the general supervision of the Custodial Supervisor or Assistant Custodial Supervisor, the incumbent performs semi-skilled and skilled cleaning, housekeeping and/or general maintenance duties for the majority of their time which requires a greater degree of training, skill, independence of action, physical effort and/or experience found at the custodial level. Incumbents will operate vacuums, buffers, shampoo machines, and other equipment required to maintain the assigned facilities. Ability to read, write, and speak English to facilitate direct communication with staff and students. Incumbent is responsible for the security and maintenance of master keys and assigned equipment. Work may include some evenings and weekends, during opening, closing and the summer conference season. Incumbent’s job placement is community specific but can change depending on departmental needs

Compensation Range:

$37,938.96 - $42,783.12

Required:

CA Driver's License

Skill to communicate, both verbally and in writing, information to a diverse group of people. Demonstrate ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks. Custodial or related experience. Ability to work in a team oriented environment to accomplish scheduled tasks. Skill to operate electrical floor machines safely.

Special Conditions Required:

Must be available for overtime and weekend work, and able to climb stairs, and be bondable. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing for the purpose of instructions and record keeping.
