Job Summary
    General lab upkeep: prepare and autoclave media, pipette tips etc, arrange for biohazard removal, maintain chemical inventory.Experiment specific tasks: bacterial genomic DNA purification, 16S and shotgun sequencing library preparation, qPCR

Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etcCollect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
Operate various equipment used in research studies.

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Educational Requirement

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

This job requires basic knowledge of research lab equipment and support processes and practices. Includes skill in data organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and scientific computer applications.

Preferred Skills

Experience making sequencing libraries. Experience working with bacteria besides E. coli. Experience with phage.
