The University of North Carolina has enjoyed a long-standing place among leaders in higher education since it was chartered in 1789 and opened its doors for students in 1795 as the nation’s first public university. Situated in the beautiful college town of Chapel Hill, NC, Carolina has earned a reputation as one of the best universities in the world. Carolina prides itself on a strong, diverse student body, academic opportunities not found anywhere else, and a value unmatched by any public university in the nation.
Carolina Development is proud of its donor-centered philosophy, pursuing activities that always respect the interests and intentions of the donor as well as the University. The organization’s collaborative nature is a critical component to fulfilling our mission of raising private funds to benefit the university.
The Office of University Development provides fundraising and operational services to all schools and units across campus. To address one of the needs of our campus partners, we must expand the breadth of our donor relations and stewardship activities. We have begun the process to create unified endowment reports and would like to further assure that every donor to Carolina receives an equal minimum level of stewardship no matter the resources available in each unit. With this in mind, the Donor Relations Officer is responsible for working with the schools and units across campus to create and implement comprehensive donor relations and stewardship programs that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. Reporting to the Executive Director of Donor Relations and Revenue Management, the Donor Relations Officer will oversee donor stewardship activities and events, and draft written materials to aid in the school/unit efforts to educate, cultivate, and recognize donors.Educational Requirements:
