Position Summary:

Kenan-Flagler Business School opened its doors as the Department of Commerce in 1919 and awarded our first degrees to 12 students in 1921. Today we offer Undergraduate Business, MBA, Master of Accounting, PhD and Executive Development programs. You’ll find our 37,000 graduates in 50 U.S. states and 86 countries. Our faculty, who represent 21 countries, are world-class researchers and teachers. While much has changed since our founding, you can trace our tradition of educational innovation and core values – which both reflect and form our unique culture – to our earliest days. Business and the liberal arts have become the foundation for our educational approach – preparing students with the enduring knowledge and skills they need to navigate a complex future. We are an institution that, for 100 years, has provided a high quality business education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, transforming the lives of students, preparing them to graduate to become extraordinary leaders in their communities, and employees helping students to achieve that goal while perpetuating the impact a Carolina education has on people’s lives and on society.

The Director of Admissions for the Master of Accounting Program is responsible for student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment for the Master of Accounting program. The Master of Accounting program encompasses both the on-campus and online versions of the degree. This position will manage an organization of 3-5 staff members and multiple temporary workers.

The Director sets the admissions strategy under the supervision of the Managing Director and Associate Dean for the Master of Accounting program, ensuring consistency and efficiency across both versions of the Master of Accounting degree. The Director will create standard metrics to review the department’s success, leading data management and accurate reporting to the various constituents within and outside the University. The Director will manage the department’s budget, inclusive of the program’s scholarship budget and awards. The Director will work collaboratively with many colleagues across the School, including leaders within the Master of Accounting Program, MBA Program, Undergraduate Business Program, UNC main campus constituents, and other departments.

This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about higher education and its positive impact on society. Director will be part of a very entrepreneurial environment and should expect frequent change. The candidate must have a strong drive for results in a very dynamic environment. Flexibility and dealing with ambiguity are critical.
