Campus Health (CH) is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, CH has more than 88,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Women’s Health as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, Student Stores pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology.
Campus Health has been continuously accredited since 1986 by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care.
Campus Health collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy.
Education and research comprise another important function of CH. CH provides clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. In addition, CH serves as a research site for a number of faculty and graduate student grants and contracts, where CH staff participates with the principal investigators across a variety of medical specialties.Equal Opportunity Employer:

The Primary function of the Admin Support Associate position is to assist in all aspects of revenue cycle management for Campus Health Services. These functions include reviewing claims for errors prior to submission to insurance for payment, posting payments from insurance companies and patients, processing refunds, communicating regularly with the UNC Cashier’s Office, preparing daily deposits, and following up on unpaid claims.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for providing back-up to Patient Accounts front-desk personnel, interacting with students, students’ spouses, and post-docs in person or by telephone, responding to patient inquiries re: the UNC-sponsored insurance plans, providing back-up for provider/payer contracting and verifying insurance eligibility and student demographics.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for monthly inter-departmental billing to Athletics, processing SAFO payments, and monitoring international visiting Medical Students charges. Providing back-up to Patient Accounts front-desk personnel, interacting with students, students’ spouses, and post-docs in person or by telephone, responding to patient inquiries re: the UNC-sponsored insurance plans, and verifying insurance eligibility and student demographics. This position also serves as back-up to the Mandatory Health Insurance Associate.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Successful applicant will have previous experience in following up on denied claims, insurance billing and payment posting.Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent oral/written communication skills,
attention to detail, organizational skills, previous experience submitting claims through a clearinghouse, previous experience with eClinical Works and Navicure.
