Description of Work:

The selected candidate for the Soc/Clin Research Assistant will be responsible for the following:

-Provide support of on-going projects and programs, often as part of a broader research team.
-Provide guidance on program/project design and data collection methods and protocols.
-Collect, edit, analyze, and curate data sets.
-Provide oversight and mentoring to other Water Institute staff engaged in data collection/analysis.
-Assist in the presentation of data methods and results.
-Support the development of new research project proposals.
-Assist in the development of manuscripts from the data.
-When necessary, train filed staff on data collection methods and tools.
-Maintain polite and professional communications via phone, e-mail, and mail to key partners within UNC and the outside community.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools.
-Demonstrated experience in cleaning and analyzing field-collected data sets.
-Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
-Strong computer programming skills.
-Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
