HR Business Partner
DescriptionThe HR Business Partner (HRBP) provides diverse and complex human resource services for assigned schools, colleges, and administrative business units while working with university administrators and senior leadership to support their strategic business objectives. The HRBP provides counsel on all HR matters including but not limited to talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, organizational change, performance management, and equal employment opportunity. The incumbent serves as the key liaison for all human resource issues including salary administration, training, labor, payroll, benefits and HRIS for departments and areas serviced. In addition this position will advise and counsel supervisors and employees on HR programs, records, forms, systems and related policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years human resources experience,with demonstrated advanced competency in following functional areas: talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, organizational change, performance management, training and development, and HR metrics. Must have advanced employee relations experience including but not limited to: coaching managers on the resolution of performance issues; coaching managers on interpretation and application of HR policy and employment law; employee investigations; and severance and termination proceedings. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities:* Demonstrated solid understanding of all areas of HR, including recruitment best practices, benefits, compensation and learning & development* Proven excellent customer support skills with demonstrated evidence of strong business acumen including the ability to understand the needs of the client and adjust our services in accordance with those business needs and requirements* Demonstrated experience working with and providing consultation to senior management as a business partner on strategic and tactical HR related business issues and to work effectively in a complex matrix environment* Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and influence others.* Must have proven strong presentation skills and presence* Strong employment/labor law knowledge and ability to stay abreast of changing laws and regulations. Preferred:*Professional HR certification*Advanced degree in related field*Substantive compensation experience including job analysis, documentation, and evaluation; base pay administration; and competitive pay analysis*Experience in labor relations including grievances, arbitrations, and interpretation of CBAs*HR Business Partner experience at a large public research institution.
