Department Summary:

HSC Health is the academic clinical practice plan for the Health Science Center. Focused on primary care and improving health outcomes to all to build a healthier community, HSC Health has 13 unique clinics on the HSC campus as well as an off-site obstetrics and gynecology location in medical district of Fort Worth. In each clinic, an interprofessional team works collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, and nurses work together as well as intentionally integrate health care students, residents, and fellows into patient care and commit to train providers of the future within the clinical practice.

Position Overview:

The Internal Medicine Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Clinic Service Representative Lead to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Responsible for all clerical activities in a medical office using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. * Patient scheduling, billing and patient inquiries. * Acts as a customer service representative offering assistance to patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience with NextGen software.

Work Schedule:

Monday- Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Operate office equipment, such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, or other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories, or medical records.

Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.

Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, or medical consultations.

o:

Maintain medical records, technical library, or correspondence files.

o:

Greet visitors, ascertain the purpose of visit and direct them to appropriate staff.

o:

Compile and record medical charts, reports, or correspondence.

o:

Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff.

o:

Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax.

o:

Perform various clerical or administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.

o:

Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms.

o:

Performs other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the Department.
