The Machine Tool Department is seeking a student during the school year to assist in repair & maintenance on equipment, organization of tooling and cutting tools. The Lab Assistant’s primary mission is to assist the full time Machine Tool Faculty Staff in performing specified tasks. The Lab Assistant is an important part of keeping the Machine Tool Department in proper working condition to benefit students. A major area of responsibility emphasized on finishing specified tasks assigned.

•Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
•Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
•Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

•Must have basic knowledge of safety and familiar with the Machine Shop environment.
•Must be organized and detail oriented.
•Must be willing to work in a team environment and alone.
•Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
•Ability to work with others, both individually and in groups, demonstrate the ability to work under time constraints or with a schedule.

•Complies with safety policies for working in a shop environment.
•Ability to lift 40 lbs. and carry 25 ft.
