Job Description:

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neonatology is seeking candidates for a Clinical Service Representative I position to assist Neonatology Discharge Coordinators with a variety of clerical duties associated with patient discharge and follow up.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Clinical Responsibilities – Schedule follow-up clinic for patients being discharged from the unit. Coordinate Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) study for applicable patients to coincide with follow up clinic dates. Contact patients for clinic reminders and provide them with necessary information such as directions to clinic. Fax notes to pediatricians, as requested. Refer patients to follow-up clinic as well as assist to other specialties. Prepare clinic charts for efficient clinic operations. Manage all faxes.
  • Newborn Screening – Update patient list weekly. Fax clinic notes weekly to Primary Care Provider (PCP) and follow up on receipt. Update Phenylketonuri (PKU) log books in the (Neonatal Intensive Care Units) NICU units. Manage PKU faxes for discharge coordinators.
  • Office Clerical Work – Assist with scanning, organizing, and shredding of documents for retention purposes. Answer incoming calls and route to applicable individual. Check faculty leave requests against inpatient calendar to ensure there are no conflicts. Assist with checking main fax and routing documents as appropriate. Serve as Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center (RPICC) Coordinator backup
  • Any other duties, as needed, to fulfill the mission and to abide by the values of the College of Medicine.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour; commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a clinical office setting preferred.
