The University of Virginia's Department of Human Resources is currently seeking a Recruiter to support the Academic Division. This is a vital role designed to provide best in class recruitment services to support the many programs and initiatives of The University of Virginia. The Recruiter will create an environment of trust with hiring managers, faculty, and candidates, while providing a consistent level of service and appropriately sourcing for open positions. The Recruiter is an experienced HR Specialist with a proven track record of successful results with demonstrated experience and knowledge around current recruitment and sourcing strategies. Expertise with faculty searches is preferred. The incumbent will report to the Manager of Academic Talent Recruitment and will not have direct reports. This position is currently remote due to Covid-19 protocols, but would require on-site, daily work once it is deemed appropriate to return to Grounds.
Recruiters engage with hiring officials, providing support for faculty, staff, and research positions throughout the University, serving as a liaison between the Schools, UVA HR, and Provost on faculty and staff matters. This is a full life cycle recruitment opportunity - the incumbent is responsible for drafting and executing search strategy, posting and advertising vacant positions, assisting with the interview process, negotiating and delivering verbal offers, and ultimately is responsible for formally extending offer letters.
The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment, but has the ability to successfully navigate an autonomous role. The role requires a proven ability to synthesize information, provide advice, and address constituent needs. Recruiter must be able to conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical standards. A proven ability to analyze and present information and maintain accurate and detailed records is required. The ability to clearly articulate complex, specific information in area of subject matter expertise and to advise other professionals on policy and procedures is essential.
The successful candidate will have at least four years of professional experience, Bachelor's degree with at least two years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with at least one year of professional experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with faculty searches, faculty affairs, human resources, or staff development in a higher education setting, and/or have experience with Workday. Preference will be given to applications received by January 22, 2021.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
