Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Lab Assistant III will help manage and maintain embryonic stem cell cultures, maintain mouse fibroblast cultures and supervise undergraduates who will perform these tasks alongside the incumbent. Additionally, the Lab Asst III will manage and keep track of lab inventory, order supplies, and maintain databases and supplies of plasmid and cell culture stocks. Perform basic molecular biology procedures and supervise undergraduate workers involved in these tasks. Specifically, he or she will use commercially available kits to prepare plasmid DNA, prepare chemicals and media, and be responsible for generating lentiviral cultures for genetic modification of embryonic stem cells.
