Job DescriptionSummary of Duties:
The Secretary Senior position is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Department of Psychology Chair and performing complex secretarial duties in support of the Department of Psychology’s faculty, staff and students. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: coordinating faculty and staff annual reviews, faculty third-year, tenure and promotion reviews; coordinating faculty and staff searches; maintaining office record keeping, or filing system(s); developing travel itineraries; developing, modifying, and/or maintain data bases; providing assistance in preparing class materials; establishing office procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines; and coordinating office operations. The position serves as the first point of contact for the department and has frequent contact with students, staff, and the public.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent, AND two years of increasingly responsible office experience requiring keyboarding or typing; OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated experience providing complex administrative or secretarial support for an individual or group of individuals.
Experience handling a multi-line telephone.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong computer skills including data bases and web page maintenance.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
Ability to schedule Zoom meetings.
Demonstrated ability to adapt and be flexible in changing environment.
Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
Recent demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WSU policies and procedures.
