Position Summary::Under general supervision of the Student Success Lead Navigator, provide excellent customer service by assisting the students, faculty, and general public in all aspects of their interaction with Rowan-Cabarrus including providing information about courses, certificate programs, registering students via telephone, fax, e-mail and in person, and other forms of electronic communications. Prepare appropriate forms and solve enrollment discrepancies. Maintain a caseload of students to assist through the enrollment process.
Provide general information to the students, faculty, and public regarding procedures related to certificate completions, VA benefits and financial assistance. Provide ideas and input on methods to improve the services that enhance the student experience.
Provide Lead Navigator with daily activity business reports that accurately document business activity at the center. Other duties as assigned."
Staff Required Education/Experience::High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills::Associate Degree in Business or related area. Higher education experience and Colleague experience is preferred.
Department::Student Success - Onboarding
Work Hours::M-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Work week will be split between North and South campus.

Duty and Responsibility::1.Provide preliminary assessments of an applicant’s enrollment readiness while maintaining a caseload of applicants and students. Proactively engage with applicants to develop an onboarding plan.
Duty and Responsibility::2.Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and community members at the Navigation Station (front desk welcome desk).
Duty and Responsibility::3. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

The college's New and Expanding Industry Training office has earned national recognition for cooperative training efforts with area industries. Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.
An important function of the college is to provide educational programs on the pre-college level. Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
