Advertised Job Summary:The Licensing Associate in the University of South Carolina’s Technology Commercialization Office (TCO), Office of Innovation, Partnerships, and Economic Engagement, is responsible for commercializing UofSC technologies by marketing them to industry. Such commercialization includes working with UofSC researchers to secure disclosures, assessment of commercial viability, evaluation of market size, identification of potential licensees, and initiation of direct contact with potential licensees, and negotiation of licenses. The licensing associate will also perform compliance on all active licenses.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):Master’s degree in related field and 2 years related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong experience with marketing, sales, or business development. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with scientists, lawyers, and company representatives. Ability to manage payables and receivables.
