Occ Summary

Perform a variety of food and customer servic e tasks involved inreceiving and processing patient diet orders; visit p atients for menuselections entering selections into appropriate computer ized equipment;assemble and pass trays to patients; requisition supplies according toestablished par levels on patient floors.

Work Performed

*Visit patients on assigned floors upon admission to ex plain menuprocess and collect diet preferences.*Visit patients to obtaintheir menu selections and input selectionsinto hand held computer.*Dete rmine food preferences for patients on routine modified diets;order addi tional food items as necessary.*Maintain and calculate appropriate patie ntdata according toestablished guidelines.*Deliver food trays and supple ments to patients.*Compare trays to patient census, checking for accurac yand correctingwhen necessary.*Ensure proper food temperature by properl yassembling and deliveringpatient trays; detect and report improperly prepared food to supervisorimmediately.*Revisit patients after passing tra ys to assure patients are satisfied;collect all trays from patients afte r meal service and transport to dishroom.*Accurately record all items de livered to the floor.*Clean and maintain galleys according to establishe d cleaningprocedures.*Follow all safety procedures for using equipment a nd chemicals.*May assist in tray line setup, ensuring that quality stand ards aremaintained and safe food handling guidelines are adhered to.*May assist in the care and maintenance of work areas and alertsupervisors to problems as they arise.*Review and verify accuracy of diet order and al lergen information bycontacting appropriate source of information if rec ords indicatepotential discrepancies.*Performs other related duties asre quired.
