Job Description:ECU Department of Geography is currently seeking a Computer Lab Assistant in the ECU Center for GIScience. The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of the lab facilities during drop-in hours. The individual in this position will also assist the lab director in lab maintenance and in the provision of lab-related computing needs of faculty and students. This position requires the individual to work 5-15 hours per week during the academic year and may require occasional weekend hours.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):This position requires that the applicant be enrolled in an Arts & Sciences undergraduate or graduate program at East Carolina University, preferably one that is housed in the Brewster Building. The applicant must remain in good standing in the program in which he/she is enrolled. The applicant must have some experience with microcomputer based word processors, spreadsheets, database managers, web browsers, and knowledge of GIS, GPS, or Remote Sensing software. Microcomputer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
