The Technology Support Technician, Asset Specialist will report to the Director of Technology Services, Glassboro. This position will work directly with the Coordinator of Asset Management to oversee the implementation of the Information Resources and Technology Asset Management Program. This program includes asset acquisition, maintenance and disposal processes for all technology related hardware and software purchased by the University, as well as well as managing the process for ordering, receiving, assisting, configuration and deployment of University purchased devices.

Essential Position Responsibilities/Functions:

  • Receive, configure and distribute hardware purchased by the University
  • Work with the IRT Device Management department to troubleshoot issues with imaging and configuration
  • Consult with University departments on hardware and software purchases
  • Maintain the University Asset database, including all University owned hardware and software
  • Act as IRT Liaison to University Departments in relation to their computer purchases and their compliance with IRT Asset and Acquisition policies
  • Ensure compliance with various University policies relating to Asset Management throughout the Asset lifecycle
  • Act as liaison with University Procurement for IRT related purchasing issues
  • Act as coach and mentor to student worker staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Services Provided to the University Community:

  • Provides high quality and professional customer-based service for campus-wide technology needs
  • Ensures that all University computing assets are properly cataloged for maintenance and financial information
  • Ensures University hardware purchases follow University guidelines and policies
  • Ensures clients receive upgraded equipment as outlined in the University Trade-In Policy

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Two (2) years of related professional experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively on or leading IT-related projects
  • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems and imaging systems
  • Experience troubleshooting Apple OS X and working with the Jamf Apple OS management system
  • Experience working with Apple iOS and Android devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work independently to solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Experience in inventory management and procurement in an IT environment
  • Proven ability to stay current with rapidly changing technologies and changes in University policy
  • Ability to review and improve existing processes


  • Range P21 (Step 1 = $54,684)
