Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team. This position will be responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.

Duties include but are not limited to: preparing patient for visit, obtaining vital signs, past medical and surgical history, current medications and allergies, chart documentation via electronic medical record, telephone triage with protocol, order entry via protocol or provider verbal order.

Additional duties include: retrieving and communication of test results, medication administration within scope of practice, assist and/or chaperone procedures, perform wound care and reinforcement of patient education, and observe and report adverse reactions and initiate interventions.

Prescription refills per provider order or protocol, and obtain medication prior authorizations as required.
