Job Description Summary
We are looking for a self-motivated, inquisitive, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can interact well with others as a team leader. This position will involve a combination of independent and team-driven research projects, as well as project development. Participation in grants and manuscripts will be an important part of the position. Opportunities to participate in the development of new skills and research techniques and present at scientific conferences will be provided. The position includes being a team leader and supervising junior lab members, project development and protocol development

Job Description

The Research Specialist is expected to participate in and perform experimental design and data analysis. The following skills are required:

  • Plan and conduct complex experiments to meet research project objectives.
  • Based on published findings develop protocols and research approaches.
  • Work on project design, development, and data analysis for in vivo and in vitro experiments.
  • Participate in writing manuscripts and grants
  • Opportunity to learn new techniques and present at scientific conferences.
  • Team/project leader working with junior lab members


Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in both in vitro and in vivo research. Must know a number of different in vitro techniques including working with primary cell cultures, carrying out procedures with animals and have experience with data analysis and troubleshooting. Knowledge of flow cytometry, cell isolation from tissue, primary cell culture, RT-PCR, bacteria, surgical procedures, high throughput analysis, immunofluorescence, image analysis, transfection, single cell RNAseq, and some bioinformatic knowledge is desirable.

Salary Range for a candidate with 3-5 years experience has a potential to earn $43,000 - $47,000.
