Job Description: Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus. The School of Education, Human Performance, and Health seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant level for the Community Health Program. The successful candidate for this position will teach courses focused on community health and related fields, which could include health equity and disparity, health and wellness of vulnerable populations, maternal and child health, gerontology, and behavioral health. The candidate will participate in the creation of a program focused on community health related fields in collaboration with the area Community Health Agencies. Experience teaching diverse populations of students at the college/university level required, as well as a commitment to work collegially with faculty and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Candidates interested in understanding barriers to well-being and health, and for whom working to maximize equity and opportunity is a priority, are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in community health, public health, global health, epidemiology, or a related discipline (e.g. health psychology, health education);ABDcandidates with planned completion date by August 15, 2021, will be considered. University-level teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required. An emerging research agenda focused on community health, with presentations and/or publications in community health or related field is also required. A successful background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates will possess appropriate professional certifications and have the ability to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Experience with online/hybrid teaching preferred. A record of external funding with potential for growth, as well as experience with community-based research or service to culturally diverse and traditionally under-served populations preferred.
