Job Description

The Office Support Assistant IV is a mission critical position within the Registrar’s Office and campus community. As the first line of contact with customers, the Office Support Assistant will need to have knowledge of the University and have the ability to accurately and effectively communicate with the customers. The team member will work with various customers across campus and within the community answering questions related to the Registrar’s policies and procedures along with University regulations. This person will be responsible for answering questions from customers both over the phone and in person.

The position will help students navigate our student system, Joe'SS, and answer their questions. This position will be responsible for processing certification letter requests from students, student name changes, address changes, and process Change of Majors. Other duties include, coordinating advisor reports for departments, sorting and distributing office mail, filing, imaging of student records, accepting various forms over front the counter, and other duties as assigned. Office experience is required and experience in Higher Education and PeopleSoft Student Records is a preferred.

The selected candidate will work within the Registrar's Office, but will have contact with the entire University campus and will be required to have a thorough understanding of FERPA and how that relates to student record data. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the educational system and be a quick learner with regard to the software used. Candidates should be able to handle minimal directions and will be required to abide by University and campus policies.

The position will require some weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Applicants must have the ability to multi-task.

Applicants should possess a vibrant personality and be able to handle difficult situations.

Successful candidates should be able to interpret and follow all University policy and have a thorough understanding of FERPA.

PeopleSoft student records experience is preferred.
