The academic world is changing all around us. We create a long-term visual impact that provides a global space for the distribution of information for our University and provides schools/departments with a roadmap for winning together and letting the world see their message. Under the direction of the Director and the Managing Producer/Director for UCI Media, the videographer is responsible for providing production support for video projects at UC Irvine. This position consults with content specialists including faculty, staff, and other outside entities during project development to determine the goals and objectives of productions. Assists the UCI Media team and management in preparing pre-and-post production activities; including coordination of video subjects, facilitation of interviews, and execution of all filming, staging, and editing. Performs quality assurance for content posted on UC Irvine media platforms. This position will use professional production equipment such as cameras, lights, sound recording and post production such as, audio mixing, color correcting, editing, titling and projection, and other related equipment and thoroughly understand and utilize the capabilities and limitations of such equipment. Compensation Range: Hourly: $23.77 Department Website:https://ovptl.uci.edu/ Required: At least 3 years of experience in the related field.Experience using broadcast cameras and DSLR’s, managing lighting and sound equipment, and staging studio and location sets for filming. Expertise with non-linear video editing techniques and software (Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects) Excellent attention to detail from start to finish on set and in editing suite. Ability to analyze a video/media production and achieve certain aesthetics and quality control standards. Excellent communication skills, including superior command of the English language, grammar, and spelling. Highly responsible, including timely notification of supervisor in the event of issues affecting video quality during filming or absences. Familiarity with social media platforms. Preferred: Experience working in a higher education organization Special Conditions: Some weekends and evenings required. Final candidate subject to background check.
