Your opportunity:

The Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) is an interdepartmental Centre, situated within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology (LMP), that serves as a focal point for collaboration between computer scientists, healthcare providers, trainees, medical basic science researchers and industry to advance health through machine learning. The mission of the Centre is to advance research, education, knowledge dissemination and digital infrastructure in the field of AI in medicine.

As Data Governance and Quality Analyst, you will support the development of a dedicated data and compute environment in support of our Centre’s analytics activities. Vital to our success is a well curated, documented and explorable data archive. Relying on your strong analytical skills and technical expertise, your chief responsibility will be the curation and management of this resource. Your ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders will help underscore the importance of our data.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and updating databases, and administering user permissions todata resources
  • Producing statistical information and generating statistical graphics
  • Running data queries, identifying and resolving data discrepancies and anomalies, and generating data quality reports
  • Developing information management methods to optimize use of data
  • Create documentation and tools to support navigation of complex datasets
  • Training end-users on systems and procedures

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years of related experience within an academic environment, teaching hospital, or comparable environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of data analysis methodology, including demonstrated ability to apply query techniques
  • Experience preparing and interpreting statistical and graphic reports
  • Experience training end-users and preparing training documentation
  • Advanced proficiency in Python/SQL and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize information
  • Strong database management, spreadsheet and presentation design skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment and exercise tact, discretion, flexibility and sound judgment


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, Plotly/Dash)
  • Experience with Sparql and Elastic
  • Comfortable using cloud infrastructures (AWS/GCP)
