Job Summary A Postdoctoral Fellow position in geophysics or a related field is available at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech. The candidate will work on using magnetotelluric inversion to the petrology of silicates. The aim of this work is to understand the composition of magmas that feed volcanic arcs.

Responsibilities The School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in geophysics or related field to work on coupling magnetotelluric inversion to the petrology of silicate melting based on thermodynamic principles, with the aim of understanding the origin and composition of magmas that feed volcanic arcs. The postdoc will apply this workflow on publicly available data sets, publish the results, and assist in preparing a research proposal to be submitted to NSF.

Required Qualifications

PhD in training in geophysics, physical sciences or related discipline.
