Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, or modifies computer hardware, multimedia equipment, and related devices. Initiates routine diagnostic to determine cause of equipment failure and follows standard procedures for problem resolution. Installs and customizes application software.
Trains users on basic computer functions, software, or multimedia equipment to facilitate and enhance their work experience.
Serves as principle point of contact to answer inquiries and serves as a liaison between end users and the appropriate ITS area or University department able to provide problem resolution, within defined turnaround time.
Maintains information relating to workstation configurations, replacement cycle, and inventory. Documents technical procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to 2 years.
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of equipment and machinery used in area of work.
Knowledge of computer operations, functions, and related peripherals.
This position supports over 250 classrooms in over 45 buildings. The candidate may be required to move around the FSU campus quickly on short notice. We are looking for someone who has strong customer service skills and is eager to learn a variety of new technologies.Preferred Experience in supporting technology in an academic environment.Pay Plan This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.Soft Money Funded Position This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.Schedule Monday through Friday, an eight-hour shift between 7:30am and 9:30pm.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
