This role is typically engaged as the highest-level technology expert across one or more architecture domains. The lead architect manages a team of solution architects and systems analyst working towards strategic application and data integration goals. Under the direction of the enterprise architect, the lead architect designs transition states and future states of integrations between a number of applications and data sources. The architect is responsible for delivering designs aimed at creating a streamlined hub-and-spoke architecture that supports a post-modern ERP enabled environment.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Strong people management skills with proven ability to motivate employees and get tangible results. Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture. Knowledge of the Open Group Architecture Framework. Excellent understanding of application development methodologies, infrastructure, cloud, and network architectures.SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Maintaining an established work schedule. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills. Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.Required Work Experience
Five years working as a solutions or enterprise architect on application and data domain related solutions along with 5 or more years application development experience. Ten years of progressively responsible IT experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving. Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams of 4 or more people. Ten years related work experience.Required Education
Bachelor's degree in business information systems (IS), computer science or related field, or equivalent related IT experience.Special RequirementsLicenses/Certifications; Other
Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for travel in the Austin area as required.Other Preferred Qualifications
ITIL Certification preferred. TOGAF certification preferred.Physical Requirements

This is a benefit eligible position funded through January 31, 2022 and is subject to renewal. The College is unable to support candidates who require sponsorship to work in the United States.
