To serve as the primary contact for recruitment, enrollment, registration support, internship and job readiness for the Advanced Manufacturing Academy with HSP Career Academies. Serves as liaison with various ISD partners to develop, maintain, and grow internship opportunities for students participating in the Advanced Manufacturing Academy.

Note: This is a grant funded part-time (50%) position.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serves as primary High School Career Programs resource for Advanced Manufacturing Academy. Builds and fosters a positive working relationship between various ISDs, surrounding auto or manufacturing industry partners and Austin Community College (ACC).
  • Assist with the development and coordination of the ACC enrollment and recruitment on a high school campus.
  • Coordinates and plans with automotive partners to host internships. Organizes and leads meetings with representatives from partner school districts.
  • Coordinates, creates, organizes, and delivers recruitment and outreach events for career programs.
  • Works to develop job readiness workshops, presentations and training for academy students to include: resume writing, interview preparation, workforce networking, and work readiness.
  • Assists in the establishment and maintenance of appropriate internship experiences.
  • Works directly with internship class instructors to customize their programs.
  • Assists faculty with employer events/ employer recruitment.
  • Administers internship evaluation process/ surveys for all parties.
  • Serves on high school, community, and college wide committees as assigned.
  • Develop, maintain and instruct faculty development regarding internship practices, protocols and college regulations, either through in person training or online through Blackboard.
  • Review faculty internship course curriculum to ensure compliance with federal, state, and ACC requirements.
  • Recruits internships opportunities for students each semester.

    Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including the use of tact and diplomacy. Effectively using organizational and planning skills, including the use of attention to detail and follow-through. Coordinating administrative support services. Making individual and group presentations. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.Technology Skills

    Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, graphic creation and presentation software, and Google applications.Required Work Experience

  • Two years related work experience.
  • Preferred Work Experience

    Two years related work experience in higher education support services.Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

    Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for ACC service area travel.Physical Requirements

    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

    ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
