Job Description:

Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Our curriculum and training opportunities prepare graduates to deliver outstanding professional services emphasizing the ability to understand and work with diverse populations. We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to assist the human resources department with administrative support.

Principal Duties:

  • Support the administrative needs of the HR department for multiple campuses

  • Maintain confidential employment data and electronic data utilizing electronic databases

  • Accurately enter confidential employee data into HRIS, generate reports, and audit information

  • Provide support for open vacancies including: creating job requisitions, posting jobs, scheduling of interviews, extending offers, and initiating background checks

  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding organization’s policies, procedures, and benefits

  • Maintain and process Student Employee hires, maintaining internal database for processing requests • Performs audits to ensure Student Worker records are up to date.

  • Assist the HR leads with Adjunct hiring and maintaining onboarding records

  • Coordinate delivery and pick up of mail for department • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1 - 2 years of human resources experience

  • Professional demeanor and exceptional customer service skills • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills

  • Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of employees through excellent listening and communication skills that engender trust and support

  • Ability to handle complex phone inquiries and interact in a calm and supportive manner with a diverse a group of faculty, staff and students

  • Ability to work independently without close supervision, seeking consultation when necessary

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments and meet deadlines

  • Ability to establish priorities, and work in an organized manner with emphasis on detail and accuracy

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail

  • High level of reliability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
