•Prepares all laboratory exercises for student use
•Maintains a small library of references and other equipment made available to the students
•Maintains biological models as applicable to area
•Maintains an inventory of supplies through proper and safe storage, repair, and replacement
•Provides guidance to part-time lab staff and assists with scheduling labs
•Oversees purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies within budgetary limits
•Assists part-time tutors in developing schedules to ensure coverage of the center
•Requests facilities (laboratory classrooms and preparation areas) that are orderly, clean, and safe
•Informs faculty regarding areas where students are encountering difficulties in a given subject
•Evaluates and updates curriculum resources and lab forms/materials
•Serves the department and on campus committees as needed
•Performs other duties as assigned

•Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry or related field and three (3) year of experience in an academic setting; or Associate’s degree in Biology or Chemistry and seven (7) years of experience in an academic setting
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Knowledge of OSHA hazardous materials/waste use, storage, and disposal compliance
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic research methodology
•Knowledge and understanding of training and education principles
•Possess strong customer service and public relation skills
•Skill in project management and the ability to meet deadlines
•Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff.
