Description of primary duties and responsibilities::Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The purpose of Student Health Services is to provide students with quality health care for illnesses and injuries and to make referrals to specialist or consultants when necessary. Student Health Services promotes and maintains conditions that are conducive for healthy living and guides and encourages students to accept health as a positive value of life so as to stimulate an interest in making healthy adjustments to their lifestyles and environments.
Primary Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to provide quality pharmaceutical services to authorized individuals of Fayetteville State University in accordance with all Federal, State of North Carolina, and the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy law, rules, regulations, policy, and procedures. This position is limited to 35 work hours per week.
Description of Work Continued::Duties and Responsibilities:
Dispense medications to patients (after thorough review of patient records, medical history, and allergies.).
Maintain a medication inventory in accordance with available financial resources at lowest possible cost. Review and interpret all medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and suitability prior to dispensing.
Correctly label each prescription specifically for each student including all notes, warning labels, and cautions in accordance with all applicable pharmacy laws. Maintain daily log of medications dispensed
Resolve medication discrepancies prior to dispensing
Maintain prescription copies that are not to be filled in-house
Serve as an interface with providers and staff. Conduct pharmaceutical counseling and education to patients with each medication dispensed.
Maintain HIPPA, OSHA, and other imposed regulatory standards
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina.
