Custodian Full Time - AM
Position DescriptionIndividual will perform all duties associated directly with regular cleaning of college classrooms, offices, labs, corridors, and related spaces. Typical schedule will be Monday - Friday 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. While these hours are typical, they may be subject to change as workload and needs of our customers and work areas change.Duties & ResponsibilitiesI. Essential Functions: Provide care and cleaning to tiled, carpet and concrete floors.Scrub and sanitize bathroom sinks, toilets, fixtures, floors and wallsOperate vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, scrubbing machines, buffing machinesClean and wash walls, windows and ceilingsReplenish restroom supplies, papers, soaps, etc.Perform collection and proper disposal of trash, recyclable materials, etc.Removal, stripping and refinishing of floor finishes and applying of new floor finishesChange light bulbs.Efficiently and safely operate and use cleaning equipment and chemicals.Regularly service and clean machines used in care of building.Set up and move furniture and equipment for special events.Safely climb step ladders to perform custodial duties.Comply with safety requirements and report any unsafe conditions or unsafe equipment to supervisor.Perform building and security functions (i.e. locking and unlocking doors, building lighting, room checks. etc.).Comply and assist management in emergencies.Provide prompt, correct responses to stakeholders and customers.Other duties as assigned. II. Additional Functions:
6-8 hours: None.
4-5 hours: Grasping, performing repetitive movements, standing, twisting, walking, working indoors.
1-3 hours: Bending, pulling, pushing, reaching.
Less than one hour: Balancing, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, working at heights, working in temperature extremes, working outdoors.
Lifting and Carrying:
Less than 10 pounds: 15 or more repetitions per hour.
10-20 pounds: 15 or more repetitions per hour.
20-50 pounds: 15 or more repetitions per hour.
50-100 pounds: 1-10 repetitions per hour.
More than 100 pounds with help: Less than one repetition per hour.
Personal Protective Equipment Provided:
Gloves to protect from cleaning chemicals and body fluids.
Eye protection when using cleaning chemicals.
Protective footwear when working with floor stripping chemicals.
