Advertised Job Summary:A Senior Enterprise Network Architect focused on the end-to-end creation and management of IT network architecture models and their lower level components, specifically focused on security, applied networking and enterprise routing. They must interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT network systems. The Enterprise Network Architect is expected to ensure that the overall architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary role of the Enterprise Network Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives are in-line with the university’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
Systems, Business Administration or related field and 4-years experience in computer operations or a related field; or equivalency.
10+ years of experience in the planning and design of LANs & WANs.
Must have led or participated in an IPv4 to IPv6 design and migration.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in business related field and 8 years related program management experience, or bachelor’s degree and 10 years related program management experience.
The ideal incumbent would have not only technical acumen but demonstrated strength in leadership, collaboration, and communication. The incumbent should be an agent for change.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to plan the implementation of short and long-range service and support of related activities. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with users, technical staff, management and vendors. Vast knowledge of both stable and emerging technologies as well as an understanding of the needs and goals of the University. Consults with technology experts at other universities, governmental agencies, and private industry to understand the impact of network technologies and operations on external organizations
