The Industrial and Systems Engineering invites applications for a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Associate position. Candidates should have primary interest and expertise machine learning. Must have the ability to present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication, effectively to the project team, funding agency, and/or to outside researchers and collaborators. Other duties to be performed at various levels within the defined title.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields and possess a demonstrated potential and strong commitment to quality research.   

The position is available to start in early January 2021. The post-doctoral researcher will report to Dr. James Ostrowski.  This is a twelve-month appointment, renewable annually for up to four years based on performance and funds availability. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, health benefits, career mentoring and any required travel.



QualificationsPosition Qualifications:

• A PhD in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Primary interest and expertise in machine learning, optimization, and symmetries.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively are also required. Based on these qualifications, the successful candidate will be expected to:
    •    Work closely with and mentor student researchers working on the project
    •    Present results at conferences, workshops and other meetings
    •    Publish in peer-reviewed journals on an annual basis
