Hiring Department College of Education Responsibilities
  • Facilitate academic chairs’ development of course schedules and staffing of part-time instructors
  • Maintain College course listings including the processing and updating of schedule changes
  • Facilitate all operational aspects of instruction including monitoring teaching loads, textbook ordering, distributing predefined reports, and managing course evaluations
  • Monitor and approve room reservations
  • Maintain and update College of Education website related to areas of expertise
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while serving a vibrant diverse academic college
  • Serve as a source of general information for students and potential students of UMSL and the College of Education
  • Process personnel actions and assist new and existing employees with payroll and human resources questions
  • Monitoring and review College payroll and instructional costs
  • Reconcile College payroll
  • Provide administrative support to users of the Time and Labor system and serve as primary subject matter expert in the College of Education
  • Process appointments with human resources ensuring all documents are completed accurately and in accordance with UMSL and College policies
  • Troubleshoots payroll errors and maintain proper human resources and payroll procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of five years of full-time work experience in a fast-paced and varied environment specializing in administrative support, customer service, or payroll
  • Related work experience in an institute of higher education or other non-profit organization
  • Demonstrated bookkeeping or reconciliation experience
  • Excellent proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Web maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with the use of Google Drive
  • Familiarity with the use of predefined reports in Cognos
  • Familiarity with the use of PeopleSoft Finance, Human Resource or similar large scale administrative systems
Salary Range$13.27-$18.00/hr Application Deadline
