Occupational Summary

Perform all levels of trouble shooting,maintenance and repair of water, sewage, drainage, air, gas and vacuum systemsand related equipment and facilities in Duke University H ospital.

Work Perfo rmed

Monitor and troubleshootplumbing problems and breakdowns by diagnosin g trouble and repairing, replacingor taking other corrective action to H ospital plumbing systems and equipment.

Maintain and repairsterilizers, washers, glass washers, ins titutional kitchen equipment, operatingroom tables, mixing valves, water softeners, grease pits and special equipment.

Determine routing ofpipe and location of plumbing fix tures, accessories and equipment by followingand adhering to trade pract ice specifications, blueprints, sketches and codes.

Complete requireddocumentation to include, but not limited to, work order forms, inventory/orderforms, and preventive m aintenance documents; use computer software asapplicable to plumbing mai ntenance or construction activities.

Follow a predeterminedschedule of preventive maintenance on pl umbing systems and equipment. Reviewrelated documents and evaluate compl iance to standards and codes.

Analyze systems orcomponents and recommend proper corrective actions when needed. Perform otherrelated duties incidental to the work describe d herein.
