Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in graphic design, advertising, or a related field. Two years of experience as a designer with an emphasis on both printed and digital media, or a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Assists in the design and production of creative artwork for digital media, printing, and presentations that supports events sponsored by the College of Arts and Media (specifically, promotion of public events presented by the School of Music, the Department of Dance, the Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre, the Department of Art, and the Department of Mass Communication). Works closely with college office staff and administration to establish project priorities and standards, goals and timelines.
Primary Responsibilities:Designs and produces a variety of print and digital media in collaboration with academic units across the College of Arts and Media to create design products. Produces design work within production formats to meet the established production calendar. Executes conceptualized designs and prepares the final design for production and distribution. Cooperates with key University stakeholders, including University Marketing and Communications and Enrollment Management, to ensure compliance with University branding guidelines, document workflow and deadlines. Occasionally assists with live-event support. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Working technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications associated with publishing, graphics, and digital media. Experience using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to establish layouts and create graphics for a variety of print and digital formats. Ability to creatively solve problems, think critically, and collaborate on simultaneous projects with a variety of professionals, administrators, and support staff in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to produce artistic and professional graphic design products for print and social media formats. Excellent interpersonal skills required to lead creative teams. May work nights and weekends as required.
