Job Summary:The archives student assistant is responsible for arranging and describing historic materials – including documents and photographs. Duties will include: inventorying records, evaluating items for preservation concerns, rehousing materials when necessary, entering information into a database, and assisting in the development of finding aids.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Attention to detail, legible printing, and filing skills. The student should have the ability to follow department procedures and policies and to work without close supervision. It is expected that the student assistant will maintain a regular work schedule. Must have respect for the intrinsic value of archival materials.

Preferred Education/Experience:Basic computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications, Photoshop, scanning software and hardware, as well as an understanding of database management.
