Job Summary:The department of Orthopaedic Surgery – Joint and Spine is seeking a Registered Nurse.
The Nurse Clinical Ambulatory provides disease specific patient care to a group of patients who have serious acute and/or chronic health events or who are seeking healthcare to maintain their state of wellness. Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to skilled assessments, care plans and care plan implementation, patient education and clinical evaluation or interventions.
This position requires working with medical professionals who are working under time and efficiency constraints in a busy ambulatory care setting with a patient centered care focus on quality, safety, and service.
A working knowledge of enterprise, nursing, departmental policies, protocols, and procedures is needed to be successful.
The Staff Nurse working in conjunction with physicians, staff and other healthcare providers will oversee and assist specific areas including but not limited to telephone triage, AEHR task management, test results; assist in pre-screening of new patient referrals and ensure availability of pertinent medical records.
Will respond to patient and referring MD phone calls in an efficient manner, provide patient teaching in preparation for tests and/or procedures, monitor room utilization and turnover for effective use and chaperone visit as needed, room patients, obtain vital signs, obtain full medical history, perform medication reconciliation, review of systems and other pertinent information.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Basic computer knowledge, MS Windows, Word, Outlook.
Must be an experienced RN that has excellent problem solving skills in triaging patient needs. Dependable, reliable, advanced telephone and in-person communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills; and excellent customer service.
No
Preferred Education/Experience:ADN or BSN plus more than three years related experience preferred.
AEHR, SCM preferred.
Orthopaedic and/or Ambulatory Clinic experience preferred.
Casting/splinting/bracing skills and related knowledge preferred.
