UMKC Law School Continuing Legal Education is seeking candidates who are motivated, self-starters and enjoy collaborating with a small team to play a critical role in providing high quality continuing legal education, A+ customer service and generating revenue for the law school. Annually, UMKC CLE is the top provider of continuing legal education programming in the state of Kansas based on hours reported producing an average of 60 events, including two international travel activities with an average total of 6,000 customers.
The ideal candidate will be able to work both collaboratively with others and independently, exercising a high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and attention to detail. Applicants for this position will have responsibilities concerning a wide variety of tasks, and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively to successfully meet various deadlines.
This is a full time position with the primary duties of:
- Coordinating registrations for events
- Applying for and reporting continuing education credit for various professionals including but not limited to attorneys, accountants, financial planners, human resource professionals, and insurance professionals
- Processing payments
- Processing refunds
- Generating event financial reports
- Assisting with onsite event support
The individual interacts with customers, speakers and planning committee members on a daily basis through email, Zoom, MS Teams, telephone and in person. Additional duties may include, but not limited to reception, data entry, marketing, record keeping in accordance with University and CE regulatory requirements, assisting planning committees and other duties as assigned.
Although not required, there are opportunities to travel for out of town events, international programs and professional development conferences.
The individual will have the opportunity to be the lead coordinator on events as directed.
Personal transportation to local off-site events is required.
Ability to lift light to moderate weight is required.Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessaryPreferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with MS Office software including Outlook, Adobe, Word, Excel, etc.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
