Division/Department Information

Physical Therapy Program in Department of Clinical Health Professions within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Responsibilities
  • DPT Core Faculty teaching workload in area(s) of expertise
  • DPT Core Faculty scholarship workload in area(s) or expertise
  • Department/College/University/Community service
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Education in establishing and implementing the strategic plan for clinical education and the daily operations of clinical education,
  • Assist with establishing, developing, and maintaining adequate quantity and quality of clinical education sites,
  • Assist with composing and editing policies and procedures manual for clinical education and practice,
  • Assist with placement and supervision of students in appropriate clinical sites,
  • Facilitates quality learning experiences for students during clinical education,
  • Assist with supervision and communication with students and clinical instructors during clinical education experiences,
  • Monitor and document student performance,
  • Assist with evaluating students' performance, in cooperation with other faculty, to integrate didactic and clinical learning experiences and to progress within the curriculum,
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinical, and administrative teams,
  • Meet the educational needs of students, mission and vision of the University, Department, DPT Program and CAPTE,
  • Manage all administrative responsibilities consistent with CAPTE, federal/state regulations, University/Department requirements, and clinical sites,



Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or a B.S. in Physical Therapy plus an earned academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) Preference will be given to candidates with a DPT degree and an earned academic doctoral degree.
  • Candidates must be a physical therapist who is licensed or regulated in any United States jurisdiction as a current Physical Therapist.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience as a Clinical Instructor and/or clinical coordinator
  • Previous experience as a DPT Program Clinical Education preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program is preferred.
  • Significant research experience and publications.
