Essential Job Duties:The purpose of this position is to hire a research scholar to help lead a laboratory-based research project related to energy harvesting. The goal of the project is to convert the mechanical motion of waves into electricity.
Carry out experiments in the laboratory including designing mechanical parts that convert the random oscillatory motions of sea water into more regular motions. These motions will be used to convert mechanical energy into electricity.

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or Flex time as needed
Other Work/Responsibilities:Attend group research meetings and other research meetings. Help write quarterly and final reports. Write papers to report research. Co-mentor undergraduate researchers and collaborate with other lab members.
Minimum Experience/Education:PhD in Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:PhD in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Ideally, applicant will have hands on experience working in a laboratory environment with fabrication experience.
